Birmingham & Midland Marine Services’ supply National Governing Body approved and endorsed water safety & skipper training as well as safety boats, work boats and floating access solutions. We can supply your organisation with a complete package; from training your personnel, to supplying you with vessels, equipment and advice.


We provide specialist training for personnel working on, in, above, or near the water with a broad portfolio of specialist inland marine courses.

Programmes are available for both Skippers & Crew and also to the construction, civil engineering, rail, utilities, events, maintenance, environmental, emergency services, military, expedition and education sectors, where personnel may be deployed around our inland waterways, canals, rivers, reservoirs and lakes.

Flood, Aquatic PPE & lifejacket users courses are also available to DEFRA level 1 for personnel deployed to affected areas. We also run a variety of courses suitable to the leisure industry and various volunteer sectors.

Waterside civil engineering

In addition to our training capacity, we also supply plant and equipment for commercial infrastructure projects waterside, such as road and rail projects. Site safety / rescue support a speciality.

Specialising in bridge works & surveys, access and safety cover, from providing water safety training, helping employers meet their Health and Safety obligations under statutory law, life jacket and Aquatic PPE provision, work platforms such as work boats, providing bank safety cover, safety / rescue boats.

Procurement and facilitation services are available on a consultancy basis.

B&MMS are Approved Contractors, Training Vendors and External Assessors to the Canal and River Trust.
